Institutional Strengths
Govt Graduate College Khanpur has grand buildings. College building with its serene and safe environment, auspicious rooms, and spacious grounds presents an atmosphere that attracts students from far flung areas. It comprises four blocks: Administrative Block, Graduate Block, Degree Block, Intermediate Block, a Computer Lab, a splendid auditorium, a grand mosque, cafeteria, and new M.A. block.
College has spacious multipurpose lawns and lush green playgrounds with rows of trees on the edges. It provides ample opportunities for physical and mental development of students. The play grounds and flowers of the college not only soothe students with fresh air but also help in their physical growth.
A variety of sports facilities including playgrounds for cricket, hockey, football, and athletics are available. Each year competitive sports for both male and female students are organized at inter-departmental, inter-collegiate, and inter-university levels in football, cricket, badminton, athletics, and more. To encourage sports, scholarships are awarded to outstanding players, and winners are awarded prizes, trophies, and medals.
Library is an integral part of the education system. The college has separate libraries for the Degree and the Graduate blocks. There are 16,300 books in total. Students are encouraged to utilize this facility to improve their knowledge and personality. These libraries are equipped with modern facilities of learning. Besides this, an e-library is being launched soon adjacent to the traditional library having a massive collection of e-books for students.
Three well-equipped independent labs for Chemistry, Biology, and Physics have been upgraded recently to meet the demands of students in classroom activities. These three labs are furnished with modern scientific facilities.
Govt. Graduate College Khanpur has a new spacious computer lab, well-equipped with the latest 25 computers. Research facilities on internet are also available. Here students are trained to benefit from modern and latest inventions in the fields of online research.
Co-curricular activities play a vital role in improving the personality of students. They help students prepare for practical life. For this purpose, various clubs are functional in the college. Meetings and functions are arranged under these societies. Moreover, annual debates, annual dinner, sports gala, annual sports, merit function, and convocations provide many confidence-building opportunities to students.
A well reputed literary magazine, "Bang-e-Sahar", is published by the college. This magazine provides an opportunity to polish and enhance literary qualities of students. Creative and research-oriented writings of teachers and students are invited and published in "Bang-e-Sahar". Editor and Sub-Editor are selected from students on the basis of creative literary capabilities. A brief description of ongoing college activities and important notices are published through the college gazette.
The college canteen provides a refreshing break from the daily routine and offers a wide range of eatables and drinks at reasonable rates.
College has three buses to provide transport facility to students. It is also used for picnic and educational tours.
Portable generator facility is available in the college.
With the huge amount of money donated by worthy MPA PP 260 Haji Muhammad Arshad, two water filtration plants have been installed for provision of pure and clean water to the students of the college.
Government of the Punjab announced provision of 25 new classrooms for BS block.
